As an ambitious developer born in march 1973 with many years of experience in the online world, I have been passionate about websites since the late ’90s. With a degree in Computer Science from 1999, my interest in online presence and programming has only grown. Over the years, I have built up extensive knowledge, making me an online generalist with deep business understanding, comprehensive development experience, marketing skills and project manager experience.
Experience
2024 – : Developer
Travelmarket A/S
Working as a senior developer, focusing on application development with a primary responsibility in front-end development. This includes JavaScript, styling, making designs responsive and mobile-friendly, working with WordPress, and handling front-end related tasks in PHP and ColdFusion.
2022 – : Founder
En verden af rejser
I have been seeking for a place where one could explore travel stories from a variety of travel bloggers, a place that was well-organized and rich in content. Since I couldn’t find such a platform in Denmark, I decided to create one myself. I set up a website using WordPress, where I developed a system to collect information from various travel blogs – naturally, with their permission. The project encompassed everything from the initial idea to marketing, development, and all other aspects of creating a website.
2019 – 2020: Developer / Marketing
Slip Angsten
I work on a variety of tasks at slipangsten.dk, including development, marketing, and many other responsibilities. The website was originally founded in 2007 by my wife, who then sold it in 2020.
2017 – 2023: Developer
Aarhus University
After my time as a freelancer, I took a position as a project-employed ColdFusion developer at Aarhus University. Later, I secured a permanent position in the User Experience team. There, my focus was on frontend development within the Typo3 platform (CMS), where I worked with technologies such as fluid, typoscript, css, sass, html, js, REACT, and php. Thanks to my experience from a marketing department at Travelmarket, my role also included teaching SEO.
At Aarhus University, we also extensively used the SCRUM methodology and the project management tool Jira in our work.
2016 – 2017: Self Employed
Stærke Sider
In January 2016, I embarked on a journey as a full-time freelancer. My services include assistance with WordPress websites, development support, and online marketing guidance.
My experience spans developing WordPress plugins, creating webshops and websites, providing WordPress maintenance, offering advice on online marketing, and even managing a project team in the Philippines.
2015 – 2016: Developer
Aarhus University
I worked as a developer on the university portal, mit.au.dk. This portal serves as a platform where both students and administrative staff can manage various tasks.
One of the projects I contributed to was creating an import system for holiday payments. This system processes data received in Excel format, converting it into a format that can be used within an Oracle Database.
During my time at the university, I gained experience with a range of technologies including Cold Fusion (CFML), XHTML, HTML, JavaScript, AJAX, CSS, HTML5, and Oracle Database.
It’s also important to note that we used SCRUM methodology in our daily work, which helped us manage our projects more effectively.
2015 – : Founder
Eventyrsstyrelsen.dk & FreeRangeTravellers.com
My wife and I share a passion for blogging and traveling, which led us to create two blogs. In 2015, we launched a Danish travel blog called Eventyrsstyrelsen.dk. Following that, in 2016, we introduced an English version named Free Range Travellers. On both sites, we share stories and experiences from our journeys around the globe, traveling as a small family.
2014 – : Founder
Stærke Sider
I run a business that specializes in consulting and programming. The primary core areas are WordPress, ColdFusion, PHP, as well as general consulting, but I also manage other web projects. In my role as a technical consultant at Stærke Sider, I focus on improving companies’ digital presence. For more information about our services and to read our blog posts, please visit our website, Stærke Sider.
2012 – 2018: Founder
Spotnaked.com
Spotnaked.com was created with the purpose of making it easier to find places for naturists to travel to. It also functioned as a blog that focused on the experience of traveling as a naturist, as well as on naturism in general. I sold the website in 2018.
2003 – 2020: Founder
Backpacker Planet I/S
I launched my first backpacking website in collaboration with two wonderful friends. I handled the entire programming aspect, covering HTML, CSS, ASP, Database management, among other technologies. Additionally, I contributed significantly to the design and conceptualization of the site. The website was sold to a big danish travel company in 2000, but I was still a part of the website until 2003.
2000 – 2015: Developer / Marketing
Travelmarket A/S
As a development specialist and technical project manager at Travelmarket, I operate across key markets including Denmark, Norway, Sweden, as well as the US, UK, Germany, Spain, Portugal, France, Mexico, and Italy. My role encompasses a wide range of tasks such as generating new ideas, optimizing for search engines (SEO), managing AdWords campaigns, focusing on mobile optimization, ensuring programming tasks are completed, and much more.
My technical expertise includes working with Cold Fusion (CFML), .NET C#, XHTML, XML, XSLT, JavaScript, AJAX, CSS (including CSS3), and HTML5. Beyond programming, I spend significant time with MS SQL Server, developing complex SQL queries. My experience also extends to Oracle and MySQL, with the latter being a focus a few times each month.
Project management is an integral part of my daily duties, for which I have utilized OnTime as a management tool. Recognizing the importance of expert guidance in a rapidly evolving industry, we regularly engage some of Denmark’s top consultants to ensure we make informed decisions.
My responsibilities also cover SEO, usability, online marketing, business development—including strategies for improving profit margins like enhancing conversion rates—and conceptualizing new ideas. A fitting description of my role might be Development Specialist / Internal Consultant. In the last two years, I have devoted a significant portion of my time to working with ELOQUA, a marketing automation tool.
